Circular economy is an important tool to challenge energy consumption, resources depletion and pollution.
A circular economy has the potential to improve the efficiency of primary resource utilization in Singapore and around the world. A circular economy would reduce demand for primary raw materials by saving resources incorporated in high value products or returning waste to the economy as highquality secondary raw materials. This will help to lessen Singapore's reliance on imports, making many industrial sectors' procurement chains less vulnerable to price volatility in international commodity markets and supply instability owing to scarcity and/or geopolitical issues.
The so-called "take, make, dispose" linear economy paradigm on which societies rely has resulted in serious environmental issues. The circular economy concept challenges the present unsustainable model; its priority is resource conservation, and it has the capacity to completely stop the loop.
What Plaslife hopes to achieve?
Over the last few decades, global waste management has been neglected. Far too much plastic has been dumped into the natural environment. Litter has an influence on biodiversity, enters the food chain, and eventually impacts human health. At PLASLIFE, we hope to intervene and help the environment by the following approach:
Closed-loop recycling as a Circular Economy
REDUCE
Reduce contamination and sorting will benefit the system with less resource uses in processing and less labour involved.
TARGET
Targeted material helps company and public understand the recycling process easily and simplify the process
INCREASE
Identified material will means higher rate of recycling success as staff member in company will sort out material subconsciously.
VALUE
Material is more valuable to related companies that will be able to use recyclable as feed stock
Closed Loop Process
